Arrow Escape FAQ

Quick answers about playing Arrow Escape. Still curious? Try the how-to-play guide.

Getting started

Is Arrow Escape free?

Yes. Every level, the daily challenge, hints and undo are free. There is no account, no download and no paywall. The site may show ads below the game in future to cover hosting; ads are never placed over the board or the game controls.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Arrow Escape runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. On phones you can use “Add to Home Screen” to open it like an app.

How many levels are there?

1,000, in six tiers from Beginner to Extreme, plus a new daily challenge every day. They unlock one at a time, and every level is at least as hard as the one before it — level 1000 is the toughest board in the game. See the level list.

Gameplay

Is every level solvable?

Yes. Levels are built so that a solution always exists, then checked by an independent solver and replayed move-by-move through the game engine before release. A board with arrows that block each other in a loop is rejected.

Can I get stuck by removing the wrong arrow?

No. Removing an arrow never blocks anything, so any free arrow is a safe move. The only way to lose hearts is tapping an arrow whose runway is blocked.

What are the red arrows?

From level 31, red arrows appear. They move normally, but tapping one while it’s blocked costs two hearts instead of one.

How are stars awarded?

Three stars for a clean solve with no mistakes and no hints, two stars for up to two mistakes, one star otherwise. Time doesn’t affect stars.

What happens when I run out of hearts?

The level ends and you can retry immediately. There’s no waiting timer and you never have to watch an ad to keep playing. You may optionally watch an ad to continue with a few hearts.

How many hearts do I get?

Five per level up to level 500, four from level 501, three from level 801 — and just one on level 1000.

Progress and offline play

Where is my progress saved?

In your browser on this device (IndexedDB, with a localStorage fallback). Nothing is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data or using a private window resets progress, and progress doesn’t sync between devices.

Does it work offline?

After your first visit, the game files are cached so you can keep playing without a connection on most browsers. Levels are generated on your device, so no download is needed per level.

Is there a leaderboard?

Not currently. Results stay on your device, so we can’t verify scores fairly. The daily challenge has a share button so you can compare with friends.

What time does the daily challenge change?

At 00:00 UTC. Everyone gets the same puzzle on the same UTC date.

Other questions

Can I play with a keyboard or screen reader?

Yes — arrow keys move between arrows and Enter launches one; the game announces moves and hearts to screen readers. See our accessibility statement.

Is Arrow Escape related to other arrow games?

No. Arrow Escape is an independent game with its own levels, code and artwork, and isn’t affiliated with any other game or publisher with a similar name.

How do I report a bug?

Use the contact page and include the level number and your device/browser.
